Fuzzy Friend Friday ((Indie & Abbie))

Say HELLO to our Fuzzy Friend Friday pups...

These adorable, spotted pups belongs to a good friend, Emily!

Names: Indie & Abbie

Age: 4 years old & 1 year old

Breed: Dalmatian Mixes

Favorite Toy: Kong

Favorite Treat: Bubba Rose Pupcakes

Tip: Greenies! These treats are awesome! They are for smelly breath and teeth cleaning. I give my dogs one everyday and their breath does not stink. They also have very little plaque on their teeth. I would recommend getting a smaller size than what the box says for your dog because they are expensive and they don't need a huge one to get their teeth clean. My dogs are both over 50 pounds and I give them the Petite size. If you order them on Amazon they are cheaper than purchasing them at the store. :)

Thank you Emily for sharing Indie and Abbie with us! After reading your tip, I bought my Aussie a box of the Petite Size from Amazon. He tends to have smelly breath at times and is developing a little bit of plague. Thanks for the great tip!

Remember to email me your pup's information and maybe your dog will be highlighted on the next Fuzzy Friend Friday! Click the link here for Fuzzy Friend Friday details!

DIY Dog Treats ((Frozen Apple Bites))

This is a super EASY and a very INEXPENSIVE treat for your dog!

I call them...

FROZEN APPLE BITES

Ingredients/Items:
  • 1 Apple
  • Chicken Broth or Water
  • Ice Cube Tray

Steps:
  • Cut up apple into cubes or strips.
  • Place apple strips into ice tray.
  • Pour chicken broth or water into ice tray.
  • Freeze and wait...
  • Give to your pup on a hot summer day or after a long walk!

Modifications:
  • Use beef broth instead of chicken.
  • Use other fruits or veggies. (DO NOT USE GRAPES OR RAISINS)
  • Use yogurt instead of broth or water.

"Quit taking pictures Mom and let me have my frozen treat!"

My dogs go CRAZY when I accidentally drop ice on the floor, so this recipe just adds some flavor to it! This has definitely become their favorite treat!

Fuzzy Friend Friday ((Millie))

Say HELLO to our very FIRST Fuzzy Friend Friday pup...

This adorable pup belongs to my sister's fiance, Nathan!
(Wedding Date: June 13, 2014...eeekk!)

Name: Millie Rose

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Havanese (Cuban)

Favorite Toy: Chew'N Clean Dog Bone

Favorite Treat: Dentastix

Tip: I would recommended kennel training your dog as early as possible. We all love dogs that will sleep on the bed but some nights we would rather them not. If you kennel train them early, your dog will learn that being in their kennel is not a bad thing. I can leave Millie's kennel door open at night and she will still sleep in her kennel!

Nathan forgot to mention Millie is a TEXAS RANGERS fan!

Thank you Nathan for sharing Millie with us!

Remember to email me your pup's information and maybe your dog will be highlighted on the next Fuzzy Friend Friday! Click the link here for Fuzzy Friend Friday details!

Fuzzy Friend Friday Details

I want to start doing a fun post for family, friends, and followers to become more involved with my blog. I am calling it...

Every Friday I will highlight a dog that belongs to a family member, friend, or a follower of mine.

The highlight will include a picture(s) and answers to the following questions…
  • Name:
  • Age:
  • Breed:
  • Favorite Toy:
  • Favorite Treat: (Homemade or Store-bought)
  • Tip: (This tip can be anything- Examples: What advice would you give a new dog owner?  What is one item you have to bring along on a trip for your dog? What great product do you recommend for your dog?) BE CREATIVE!
I hope by starting Fuzzy Friend Friday this will allow dog owners to see lots of other great products, toys, treats, and more for their pups, especially new dog owners.

In order to be a part of Fuzzy Friend Friday, please email me at kelseyroza@gmail.com with a picture(s) of your dog and answers to the questions above. Also, for owners that have more than one dog, they can be highlighted together on a post.

Camping with Dogs 101

This past weekend we enjoyed a fun-filled weekend of camping with our cousins Adam & Rebeccah at Natchez Trace State Park in Tennessee.
We had a blast hanging out with family, fishing, sitting around the fire, eating junk food, and enjoying nature!

My hubby has gone camping a number of times but this was my second time to go! We decided to bring the pups with us, so this would be their first time EVER! The week before I was browsing the internet looking for ideas of what to bring on camping trips, especially for dogs. I came up with a list of my own and added ideas I found from articles and wanted to share them with those that take their dogs camping or would one day like to!

Items:
  • Travel Food & Water Bowls
  • Food & Treats
  • Leash & Harness
  • Life Jacket
  • Dog Booties
  • Thunder Jacket
  • Favorite Toy or Stuffed Animal
  • Pet Waste Baggies w/ Dispenser
  • Dog Cable w/ Carabiners
  • Nail Clippers
Medical Needs:
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Vaseline
  • Benadryl
  • Wrap
  • Ear Flusher
Items not pictured:
  • Blanket
  • Towels (when muddy)
I know there are even more items and medical needs that can be brought on a camping trip for your dogs but being our first time with the dogs we could only buy so much. We want to be able to put together a first aid kit for our dogs soon since our Aussie tends to be accident-prone, and this first-aid kit can be taken EVERYWHERE, not just when camping.

I must say many of the items we packed came in handy! It had just rained before we arrived so the towels were a must and the dog cable allowed us to hook the dog's leashes to the cable with carabiners when we were unpacking the car and setting up the tent. Also, Molson's favorite toy, MOOSE, saved the day when we realized Molson was way out of his comfort zone and just wanted to sleep in the tent the majority of the afternoon and night snuggled up with his favorite toy.

The dogs sleeping in the tent with us was definitely a new experience! Both the hubby and I did not sleep very well, but knowing that my hubs and the dogs were with me in the tent, I felt very safe! I would definitely suggest to anyone to at least try ONCE bringing your pups along. It makes camping a totally different experience!

Dog Whisperer

Do you love your dog?
Does your furry friend put a smile on your face?
Do you enjoy going to the pet store to find your pup the perfect product or toy?
Do you make your dog homemade treats and goodies?

I think you get the point...

I am here to share with the dog-loving world my experiences with dog products, recipes, toys, and so much more!

First, let me tell you a little about myself...

I am a follower of Christ!
I am a wife who supports her VERY hardworking husband!
I am a mother to two furry friends; Molson the Australian Shepherd and Jackson the Lab.
I am a southern girl born and raised in a small, football town in Texas.
I am now a resident of Tennessee due to relocating for my hubby's job.
I am a BIG family person that is now very far away from family who live in Texas & Arkansas.

I am definitely not an expert in pet products, pet toys, pet treats, pet foods, or anything that has to do with pets, but I have been told before that I am a DOG WHISPERER!
Honestly, I am just someone who loves animals, especially DOGS and wants to share my experiences with you!

ENJOY the pictures below!

My adorable, hard-working, supportive, intelligent, outgoing husband!

We are both graduates from the University of Arkansas! WPS!
